Dr Al Halabi practised as a neurosurgeon and M.D. in Damascus before the Syrian crisis.  He subsequently founded and is now General Director of MAPs (Multi Aid Programs), an NGO working with the Syrian refugee community in Lebanon.

RELIEF publishes first workshop report on 'burden sharing and inclusive growth'

In April 2017, the University College London (UCL) Institute for Global Prosperity (IGP) and the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut (AUB) hosted a one-day workshop on the use of the term ‘burden sharing’ to refer to the demand on resources placed on Lebanon since the arrival of over 1.5 million refugees from Syria since the beginning of the Syrian civil war in 2011.

Design a logo and website homepage competition for the RELIEF Centre - £500 prize for the winner

The UCL Institute for Global Prosperity is launching a competition for the design of a logo and website homepage for its new RELIEF Centre website.

We invite young emerging designers, under 30 years old, from the Middle East region who live in Lebanon to submit either a logo, or the design of a website homepage, or both, for the use on the RELIEF project communications. A cash prize of £500 will be awarded to the winner of each competition strand.
